December 2013

Hello friends and supporters!

Well, it's a new year. But since we've only had one day or so this year, I'd like to update you on last month! Despite the ice days, we were able to reschedule our Christmas party with Collin Focus and it was a lot of fun. We were also able to have a nice dinner with our Preston Ridge students to celebrate Christmas. It's been really encouraging to see those two campuses grow this semester. We're in such a great place for the coming semester, too.

Our Preston Ridge students (minus me since I'm taking the picture).

In the life of a campus pastor December is usually a pretty relaxing month. With school ending early in the month we get time to meet with our friends and family, other campus staff that we'd normally not spend time with, and by ourselves! Often times over this break I'll go drive to Colorado with some buds for a few days and go snowboarding, but I decided to forego that this year. I wanted to have some time alone. I must say it paid off. It's amazing what God can do to a quiet and still mind when we let him. My reading and reflecting times were of great value to me this past month, and I've felt a deeper and more abiding faith taking root in my life.

I've also been able to spend more time with my beautiful wife. This has been of such great value to me. I do not take for granted this time with her, as I know when the semester starts back up I will have less time to spend. She is a constant encourager to me, sweet as she is pretty, and I thank God for putting her in my life. I would not be able to do ministry without her support. Not to mention she's a great corefa (small group leader) too!

I've been praying for you all this month. I say this often, but I hope you know I mean it more and more each time: thank you. Your help, your prayers, your friendship, these are all invaluable to me and the ministry God has set before me. Please pray for our upcoming winter camp and semester starting. Blessings to you and your families!

Yours in Christ,
Garrett
