September Update

Hello friends and supporters!

Volleyball? Check. Face painting and fake tattoos? Check. Thursday Night Focus absolutely packed out? Check. These past few weeks have been incredible. I have so much to tell you and I know you don't want to read a novel so I'm going to give you two or three-sentence breakdowns of some great stuff that's happened the first week of school and more!

Corefa Prep Day
We spent a whole day, as a staff, with all our student leaders training them and pumping them up for the school year. It was a really encouraging experience, not to mention the fact that we have 16 student leaders (corefas) this year!

Welcome Week
I'm going to cheat the sentence rule on this one because it's such a big deal. We spent Monday through Friday of the first week of school on campus doing engaging booths, meeting new students, and having great conversations with all kinds of people. We played volleyball some nights and that turned out...huge, we had a face painting and fake tattoo booth that was so much fun, and we engaged students in spiritual conversations! It was such a blessing to see God send so many seeking people our way!

Thursday Night Focus
In a word, wow. We had a huge number of students absolutely pack out the back of the cafeteria where we meet. People were raising their hands in worship to God, getting to know one another and the staff, and figuring out what Focus is all about. I don't even want to get into how bad I feel for the Whataburger the students descended on after Focus!

Corefa Retreat
On top of all this, the corefas from all the campuses got together for a weekend of worship, preparation, and training. We talked about how to lead small groups, how to study the Bible with people one on one, and we got to know one another in meaningful ways. It was a blast!

I can't begin to tell you the big things God is doing at Collin College. People are coming from all corners of the campus to be involved in this sincere, loving, and devoted group of college students who are pursuing Christ with their whole hearts. But I am not surprised! God wants great things for our students and the campus and devoted disciples are harbingers of those great things. This is all not to mention the prayers that you have faithfully prayed for this ministry. Thank you so much for your support. Please continue to pray that we will be faithful with whatever the Lord sends our way. And thank you again for your partnership in bringing the gospel to Collin College!

Yours on the campus,

Garrett Davis
