May Update!

Hello friends, family, and supporters!

How are you doing today? I don't mean that in a rote, uninterested way. I mean I really want to know! Would you please email me with things on your mind, questions you may have for me, prayer requests that I can bring to God, anything really! I'd love to hear back from you sometime soon.

May has been a fantastic, overwhelming, hectic, and exciting month. The school year wrapped up at the beginning of the month and we had our last Thursday Night Focus meeting at Collin. During our last meeting we gave the students a chance to share about what God has taught them this year. It was an open mic, heart-felt extravaganza that was extremely inspiring. Student after student came up to share how God delivered them, carried them, taught them, trained them, and loved them beyond measure. The thing I kept hearing over and over again was how blessed people felt to be a part of such a sincere and devoted body of believers pursuing God's will. This was so touching. Collin Focus feels like my family and I know our students share the same sentiment. It was such an encouraging way to end the year.

As soon as school was over, in a flash, we headed up to Seattle to attend the Student Institute of Campus Ministry (SICM). We chose students in Focus from all of our ministries who showed potential and interest in becoming a student leader to go to this weeklong conference. I believe the most students Collin Focus has taken to this conference in the past was right at 10. Collin took 23 students to SICM this year! All together, Focus took around 70 students. Try keeping a group that size together and on task! Talk about a miracle. These students were such a blessing to get to spend the week with as they learned how to teach people scripture one on one, lead small groups, engage students in meaningful conversation, and gain a vision for campus ministry. I can't tell you how exciting it is to literally watch disciple-makers get created before my very eyes. These students have a heart for people and the gospel!

Finally, we started Summer Focus this past Thursday. We are meeting at a church in Plano that has graciously allowed us to use their space free of charge. It was neat to get to spend time with people from all the Focus campuses, getting to worship and fellowship together. We will continue to meet together throughout the summer on Thursday nights at 7:30pm. You are all welcome to come and visit whenever you would like. I think you'd enjoy it greatly! Just email me for more info (and hopefully to respond to my first paragraph)   :)

Thank you so much for your help, prayers, and support. You make this possible and you are all continual blessings to me in ministry. Thank you for your partnership in the gospel. I am praying for you and yours, and I hope you have a great week!

Yours for the campus,

Garrett Davis
