My first post! (August Update)

Hello and welcome to my first blog post ever. Those of you not familiar with why you would ever want to read this might consider the following: 

1. It will keep you updated on everything going on at Collin.

2. We need your prayers! I'll have prayer requests posted here. 

3. We want you to see where your support goes. 

4. We think you'll be blessed by reading the way God is working on our campus!

Now for the August update. I'd like to start by talking about the leader retreat we had on August 11th for all of our Collin leaders. We have 25 leaders at Collin this year who are all very excited to minister to their peers. Our retreat was primarily aimed at giving our leaders a vision for what God wants to do on campus this year. It was an excellent time of fellowship, fun, work, planning, worship, and prayer. 

On top of this retreat was our first focus meeting this passed Thursday. It wasn't our kickoff (since students don't start till Monday) but we had a lot of excited focus students! We talked about how to minister to peers in class, on campus, and at focus as well as why we do that. We have so many events and activities planned for next week that I wonder if I'll be able to walk by next weekend, but we're so excited about the opportunities that will be given to us to invite people in to our community and lives. 

We really need your prayers so please be praying for the following:

• Pray that God will bless our students and the people they speak with. 
• Pray that we would be people who selflessly spread the word of God. 
• Pray for our staff and student leaders and that we would lead as servants of all. 
• Pray that God would work POWERFULLY on our campus to change people's hearts and minds!
